Both battlelines approached hesitantly, except for the two big blocks of hell hounds on the opposite side of the Sun Temple. Dragon fire was directed at one of the Sylvan Elf light cavalry units, cutting it almost to half strength. It managed to pass its morale test, though; the first of many glorious moments for it in the game.

The Sylvan Elves killed a few hell hounds and inflicted a few wounds on the dragons, but overall achieved very little this turn. They deployed their infiltrators far behind the demon flank, and almost killed a cacodemon unit. However, their fear of a charge from the Demon Knight Cavalry caused them to deploy much further back than they should have, and this was the only good turn of shooting they managed in the game.
