Trevor Self's Barons of Lyonesse Army - 15mm

As Trevor has long neglected detailing his army, I, Justin Floyd, his oft and erstwhile opponent, will do it for him.

Trevor's army consists of Heavy and Medium Infantry (with Pike and Sword), Heavy and Light Cavalry with Lance, and Longbows. He uses Pegasi as Troops.
Also included are Water Elementals, Unicorns, various weak human heroes and an Elder Dragon.

Tactics:
Trevor tends to lead with his Cavalry, because the bulk of his army, his Heavy Infantry, is so slow (slower than Dwarves, even!). He uses his Longbow to cover his army's ponderous advance. The only real maneuver units that he fields are his Pegasi, who have no armor and die messily, and his Lt Cav, who do alright, as long as they are properly supported. He used to lead with 4 Water Elementals as a missile screen and have his cavalry follow behind, but I haven't seen that in a while. The Unicorns are good as support units or Wizard assassins, and the Pegasi are good for harassment. The blocks of Heavy Infantry are hard to get rid of, as their armor is very strong.
Individual Units:

This is Trevor's Elder Dragon. It is a good monster, with 9 wounds and a whopper of a fireball. Trevor has yet to charge any unit over half strength with this "reluctant" dragon. I think he calls it "Betsy".

Cavalry! The front unit is Heavy, the back is Light. Heavy Cavalry are really great troops. Though the slowest of all cavalry, they pack a decent punch and stick around. I think he puts a mounted Lord in there. The Light Cavalry have the speed and work well on the flanks. A mounted Champion leads them.
Trevor used to field scads of Paladins until they became Elite!

Here are Trevor's "wizards". (The mounted figure is actually a High Elf.) Trevor mostly sticks with Life magic, casting Bless on either his Longbow or Heavy Cavalry, and Holy Armor and Heal where needed. His wizards have an unusually high Morale, so they often lead his assault units (and often die in the process).
His other Characters are just as fragile. Why, I've seen Human "Champions" killed after just one round with an Elf or Orc hero, or after being hit by a level 1 spell! The Paladin Lord on Warhorse is a cool and powerful character (though no match for an Elven High Lord).

This is Trevor's Air Corps. Pegasi led by a Hero-on-Pegasus (the black one?). These are fast and have Evasion, but are relatively fragile. They are good for harassment, taking distant objectives and satisfying hungry wyverns.
Overall, Trevor has a decent army, with many more units than pictured. I'm sure if Trevor had written comments himself, his army would have a much more glowing review. I hold a 2-0 record over him with my Desert Orcs.
